Brian McGee  Email

Brian McGee has lived in Maple Valley since 1992 where he and his wife Sue are raising their three children. Brian has over thirty years of experience in the fire service serving in many capacities. He started as a volunteer at Black Lake Fire Department near Tumwater and realized his desire to pursue a career in the fire service. After attending Bates Technical and Vocational College he began his career at Lakewood Fire Department before accepting a position with Renton Fire Department in 1980. Brian’s experience includes: Hazardous Materials Team Technician and Instructor, Water Rescue Dive Team., Emergency Medical Services Officer, and Instructor at the Washington State Fire Training Academy.
Mike Scott  Email

Commissioner Scott is in his first term as a Fire Commission, elected in 2008. Mike Scott and his wife Marci have resided in Maple Valley for a number of years. They have raised four children in the community and Mike has been involved with youth sports as a coach and as a Board member for Pony Baseball. Mike is also a past Board member of the Pediatric Interim Care Center in Kent. Mike has over 31 years in the fire service, starting his fire service career as a volunteer with Federal Way and currently holds the rank of Battalion Chief in the Kent Fire Department and serves as the Emergency Medical Services and Logistics Officer. Mike’s most recent assignments/experiences include: Battalion Commander, Fire Accreditation Manager and Emergency Services Officer.

 

Camille Walls   Email

Camille Walls and her family moved to Maple Valley in 1973, her two children graduating from Tahoma High School. Camille has been employed as a Civilian Fire Inspector with Renton Fire Department since 1979, working as an Inspector, Fire Investigator, Public Educator and working in Juvenile Fire Setter Intervention. Camille has been an instructor for the International Code Council and Washington State Fire officer Development Academy for many years. Camille’s education includes an AA Degree in Fire Science from Bellevue Community College. Her experience includes serving on the Board of Directors for several different organizations and volunteering as a Mentor with Renton School District for several years.

 

Gabe DeBay  Email

Gabe DeBay grew up in King County and moved to Maple Valley with his family in 2005.  Gabe has been involved in the fire service for 10 years and currently is employed as a professional Firefighter-EMT with the Shoreline Fire Department and works part time as an EMT Instructor.  Gabe brings a wide range of work experience to the Board of Fire Commissioners including:  retail loss prevention & investigations, casino surveillance, fugitive recovery, and he is also the owner of a small business. Gabe also has a love for community service and regularly volunteers his time to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Leukemia Lymphoma Society, and he also organizes a yearly toy drive that helps out over 700 less fortunate children.

 

Bill VanRuff  Email

Bill VanRuff was appointed Commissioner of Maple Valley Fire & Life Safety in 2010. Bill and his wife, Sue, and their family have lived in the Maple Valley area since 1975. They have owned and operated Wilderness Chevron for about 35 years. Bill is active in many local service organizations, including the Chamber of Commerce and was the Planning Commissioner for the City of Maple Valley for five years, setting up the first comprehensive plan. Lieutenant Governor Brad Owen made Bill a Washington General because of his state and community involvement. Bill has served on the 2008 and 2010 Pro Levy Committee, and the Long range Planning Committee for Maple Valley Fire & Life Safety.
