John Herbert grew up in Normandy Park and moved to Maple Valley with his family in 1984. John has been involved in the fire and EMS service for 42 years and currently is employed as the Chief of King County Medic One in South King County. He has also been the Fire Chief in Black Diamond /KCFD 17, worked for Boeing and owned a small business. He has recently been appointed to fill a vacant position on the Board of Fire Commissioners for Maple Valley Fire Department.
Chris Bodlovic and his family have lived in the Maple Valley area since 1996. He served in the community as his two boys grew as Chairman for both Renton Christian Schools and Renton Little League. He brings practical business experience having worked in the high tech industry for over 25 years and co-founded a green energy recruiting/consulting company in 1999. Chris had a passion to get involved with the Maple Valley FD a few years ago by participating in the Citizen Emergency Response Team (CERT) program. He has also volunteered with his wife Carol for many charitable organizations, including the Salvation Army and the Genesis Project.
Camille Walls and her family moved to Maple Valley in 1973, her two children graduating from Tahoma High School. Camille has been employed as a Civilian Fire Inspector with Renton Fire Department since 1979, working as an Inspector, Fire Investigator, Public Educator and working in Juvenile Fire Setter Intervention. Camille has been an instructor for the International Code Council and Washington State Fire officer Development Academy for many years. Camille’s education includes an AA Degree in Fire Science from Bellevue Community College. Her experience includes serving on the Board of Directors for several different organizations and volunteering as a Mentor with Renton School District for several years.
Ben Hayman has lived in Maple Valley with his family since 2009, and has worked full time in the fire service since 2001. During his fire service tenure, he has been a HAZMAT Technician, a Deputy Fire Marshal in the Fire Prevention Bureau, a Training Officer in the Training Division, and currently is a Company Officer within his organization. Ben was recently appointed to the Board of Fire Commissioners where he looks forward to serving this great community and supporting the men and women of Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety.
Craig and his family have been residents of Maple Valley since 2003. He has been in the fire service for over 25 years and having served in many different fire service positions understands the many challenges faced by fire departments and the importance of relationships between the community and fire department. Having been appointed to the open #5 Commissioner position, he will use experience in labor/management relationships, budgeting and community relationships to serve the citizens and fire department in a positive and honest capacity. He looks forward to helping in the continued success of MVFLS and the communities we serve.
